Daisy and Leeli would be two peas in a pod, even though Daisy is the epitome of shyness, and Leeli is very outgoing. Wingfeather Saga: I think it would go ok… Shaye would get along with Oscar, methinks. How would these characters get along with your own? Podo and Helmer… I need to see this conversation–need I say more? □ I’m sure the former two would be highly interested in the First Well… Janner and Kalmar would probably talk with the Fowlers, and Kalmar would most likely identify with Smalls. I think that Emma and Heather would definitely get along with Leeli and Sara. What do you think would happen if WFS & TGE characters met each other? I like her! She’s funny, sassy, and stubborn, some of my most favorite traits in a character. I’m not ok.).Īnd (controversial), how does everyone feel about Weezie? I cried at the end of the Wingfeather Saga (still gets teary eyed) and while I didn’t cry at the end of the Green Ember series, there are parts where I feel quite emotional (like when I was re-reading Ember’s End recently and I caught several times when Helmer called Picket son… yeah. □ We’d probably get in a lot of trouble though… ![]() Umm… Probably Janner and Picket… What can I say? *shrugs* I have a talent for picking the main male character as my favorite. ![]() When she finishes her first "study" (which is on the Fruits of the Spirit by the way), she plans to print a set to hand out to her small group at church. You had to go on an adventure with one character from each series, who would you bring? They are absolutely precious (in her own little 12-year old way), and she prints one off each morning for our entire family to complete during our quiet time. We've purchased many of your Bible Studies and a few other wonderful homeschooling resources, all of which we absolutely love!!! Still, I believe the greatest compliment I can give you is that because of your Bible Studies that my children and I have completed together, my oldest daughter has been so inspired, she's started creating her own daily devotionals, modeled after the ones you've made. I wanted to write to encourage you and say, "THANK YOU!" I've been following your blog for years, and you have made such a lasting impression on my entire family. I might add, most of my entire list has a least some of the series available in Audiobooks… We also squeeze in some old classics here and there- Swiss Family Robinson, Robinson Carusoe, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 101 Dalmatians, Around the World in 80 Days, etc. ![]() Trailblazer Books by Dave and Neta Jackson, Cooper Kids by Frank Peretti (a little scary, though), Daughters of the Faith Series, Rush Revere series, Happy Little Family Series, Misty of Chincoteague series, Mrs Piggle Wiggle (the 1st book mentions a little about magic and her husband being a pirate, but beyond that brief mention, they are really not about anything like that- but if you are hesitant, pre-read.), Dr Doolittle. There is one book that has hypnotist, so you may want to pre-read that one), Bad Kitty (beware the Vet one as it portrays Kitty ‘at the pearly gates, so another to pre-read). ![]() A few others for future lists (from a very picky mom) – Elsie Dinsmore (author lived through the time period of the books, making them very historically accurate.), Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Pollyanna & Pollyanna grows up, Paddington (even my 13 or old still enjoys Paddington. (Would like to note, as my kids are Dyslexic and so much of their ‘age appropriate reading’ is by audiobook- Little House Series, All of a Kind Family series, quite a few of the Sugar Creek Gang series and many of the Christian Heroes series, the 1st 4 Grandmas Attic and the first couple Imagination Station books are available by audiobook through libraries, Audible, etc…) The others, we are not yet familiar with but will look for. Great list, love the majority of these books- they are favorites in our home.
